Foxtel, leave your programs alone!

I was listening to Triple M's "Get This" podcast 151 and I was surprised to learn that one of my favourite Foxtel programs "Police 10-7" has been moved from its original home at Crime Investigation Australia to Fox 8! "How Come?"

Further investigation shows that Police 10-7 will be shown at 7.30pm Eastern Summer Time on Saturday nights on Fox 8. It will also be on the same channel at the ungoldy hour of 3.45am Sundays. Of course, it will also be repeated 2 hours later on Fox 8 +2.

For those of you who are un-familiar with Police 10-7, it is a "ride along with the cops" show in New Zealand. It is in the stable of the other NZ "ride along with the cops" show called Motorway Patrol. And on You Tube, there are some Motorway Patrol snippets. Here's one:

I used to enjoy watching COPS on CI and then Police 10-7 straight afterwards. The difference between the American cops and the Kiwi cops just has to be seen to be believed but then again, the cultures are so different.

It is good that Police 10-7 has been seemingly recognised and arguably promoted and now it can be seen on the timeshift channels as well. There should be a bigger audience for the show now but having said that, I wish that Foxtel would keep their shows under control. They should keep the reality cop shows on CI, keep the dramas off the movie channels, keep the poker off the sports channels, keep the movies on the movie channels etc.
